What about a "dial-up" account for Internet service?
You do not necessarily need your own Internet access via a dial-up
account just to have your own Web site. However, if you want to monitor your Web site and
your competition's Web sites, as well as receive e-mail from your customers and related
vendors, then I recommend that you also subscribe to a Dial-Up Account with a reliable
Internet Service Provider (ISP).
If you are a local business (see list of towns below), I recommend Green
Hills Telephone Corporation's dial-up access. It has proven to be reliable and
maintains an advanced connection to the main Internet backbone through UUNET. A
"local" Internet Service Provider eliminates the long distance telephone charges
associated with AOL and other national providers.
Communities served by Green Hills Telephone Corporation for a dial-up
account (two free e-mails and access to the World Wide Web) - no long distance charges:
Carrollton, Chillicothe, Avalon, Bogard, Breckenridge, Cowgill, Dawn, Knoxville, Lock
Springs, Ludlow, Mooresville, Norborne, Polo, Stet, Tina, Wheeling
If you live outside this area, then you will need to select the ISP of
your choice.
Setting up Your Web Page
Marketing your Web Page
Building a Web site and not promoting it is like posting a billboard in
your basement! You're just not going to get a lot of traffic. To get your Web site visited
and appreciated, you need to let people know that you've arrived. You must market it! And, remember, keep it current and fresh. |
